What type of patients do naturopathic doctors see?

Naturopathic doctors see patients of all ages and conditions. For many people we are their primary care. Traditionally, we see the chronically ill or people who are looking to maximize their health. What does the first visit typically look like?

Initial visits generally are scheduled for 60 minutes, this allows us time to understand and address your concerns. During the 60 minutes, we will take a comprehensive history, do an extensive physical exam, order labs, and identify/prescribe treatments as needed. We give you time to voice your concerns.

If I'm taking prescription medications, can I take natural supplements/medications?
Yes, doctors at Lake Stevens Natural Medicine have been trained extensively in interactions of pharmaceutical medications and herbal medicine. It is extremely important that you bring a list of ALL current medications and supplements to each visit and keep us informed of any changes, including dosage.
Can naturopathic doctors prescribe medications?
Yes, Naturopathic physicians are trained to manage and prescribe medications. We are also trained to understand interactions that medications can have with herbs and nutrients.
Can naturopathic doctors order labs?

Yes, Naturopathic physicians are trained to order labs and interpret their results. Naturopathic physicians can also order imaging studies such as x-rays and CT or MRI if indicated. More information can be found here.

Do I need to see a naturopathic doctor?

As a Naturopathic Physician, we help you discover why and how you developed your illness. We treat the root cause of the illness as apposed to applying band-aids to the symptoms. This helps you regain power over your health.
